Photographer Henry Leutwyler was given the rare opportunity to photograph the King of Pop's belongings as they waited in storage
From the book, Neverland Lost, published by Steidl
Red Jackets
Jackson wore the jacket on the left to the American Music Awards in 1984. The red lamé jacket on the right also dates to the 1980s.

Storage Space
Leutwyler initially photographed the items as they lay packed and stored in crates, awaiting public auction.

Toys
A Captain Hook statuette, left, and figurines from The Wizard of Oz are two of many child's things found in the collection.

Shoe
The singer wore this Capezio shoe during his and his brothers' 1981 Triumph tour.

Star Power
Jackson wore a white glove covered in Swarovski crystals, right, in numerous performances, beginning in the 1970s.

Gloves
The singer experimented with the iconic crystal-covered glove by having it made in a variety of colors.

Pop Royalty
Jackson often accessorized with brooches like this one.

Gold
Leutwyler found more than 1,000 items in the storage space.

Hat and Shirt
In his text for the book Neverland Lost, Leutwyler writes, "Michael Jackson sacrificed his childhood to the calling of his musical gift. Neverland was the pyramid he constructed to a lost childhood. The artifacts captured in this book return us to the Neverland he lost."
