Happier Times
First came love, then came marriage, then came the baby in the baby carriage. And then, for Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods, things got complicated. After news broke in November of Woods' infidelity, hardly a day passed without gossip about the couple. With Woods now out of rehab and ready to begin scrubbing his tarnished name, many wonder what's next for Elin.

Home Base
For years, Tiger and Elin lived in relative tabloid-free peace. And then, in the driveway of their exclusive Isleworth mansion community in Windermere, Fla., it all came crashing down. On the day after Thanksgiving, Tiger was involved in a mysterious one-man car accident outside the home. That was followed by a long silence that was eventually filled with the stories of a series of young women who claimed to have had sex with the golf star.

Ice Break
In December, Elin purchased a $2.29 million, 250,000-sq.-ft. property on Faaglar Island, Sweden. The property boasts rustic living conditions (limited indoor plumbing) and privacy; the island is reachable by ferry, but only in good weather, when the surrounding waters aren't covered in ice.

Sister, Sister
In this tumultuous time, Nordegren has found support from her family and close friends. For her 30th birthday, on Jan. 1, Elin and her twin sister Josefin escaped the postscandal media blitz by holing up with a few friends in the French Alps. The two sisters are seen here in July holding Elin's two children, Charlie and Sam.

Family Emergency
Not long after the scandal broke, Nordegren's mother, Barbro Holmberg, was rushed to the hospital, complaining of stomach pains. She was later discharged. Holmberg is a prominent Social Democratic politician in Sweden. She had flown to Florida upon hearing the news of her daughter's marital crisis. Now back in Sweden, Holmberg remains in close contact with her daughter.

The Wives' Club
Nordegren was a regular at Woods' games, often joining her fellow golfer wives in the stands. Before becoming a supportive wife and mother, Elin lived a very private life as a model and nanny.

In the Eye of the Tiger
What's next for the couple who, until three months ago, seemed to have it all? Both Tiger and Elin will hope to find peace away from the media's gaze. But if the buzz around the Feb. 19 press conference is any indication, they are not yet out of the woods.
