Senior White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers, director of the National Economic Council, said Sunday that more jobs could be created than eliminated by this spring.

"We're a lot closer than where we were a year ago," Summers said on CNN's "State of the Union," noting that then the question was, "Will there be a depression?"
